The primary goals of the Fondation Leducq Alliance Against Sudden Cardiac Death are to develop new means to identify individuals at high-risk for SCD, and to devise novel therapies to prevent SCD in those high-risk individuals.

To work toward this goal, the alliance will

• expand and analyze large cohorts of patients - being collected at Network sites on both sides of the Atlantic - with a spectrum of defined SCD risk;
• perform studies of mechanisms whereby established and new markers influence SCD risk;
• exchange information and personnel among sites.
